I am going to rant a little...So if ya don't want to hear me rant about work,  please just walk away, I'll understand....

I love my job very much, I do it to the very best of my ability...I make my rounds. I deliver what needs delivering on time. I don't wake the front desk clerks if they fall asleep, unless it is necessary.

Tuesday morning at 4:15 AM I was about to make my rounds around the parking lots. I was standing in front of the hotel smoking with the Front desk Person and a Housekeeper. We heard some noises that sounded like fire crackers, in the parking lot across the street. I went over the the  Convention Center parking lot across the street from the Hotel, between the Marriott and the Holiday Inn. I saw a man trying to open the back of some vehicles, when he saw me he walked away. I had the front desk clerk call the police. Then I saw a second man climbing down from a Pensky Rental truck and he walked over to a red minivan and broke out the front driver side window and got in and began to rummage through the van. I went to detain the man and, because by law I can not put hands on anyone, I had to allow him to walk away. Well I had to go look at the damage done to the vehicle, then I followed in the direction he headed. Well I went to the Holiday Inn across the street and he had not gone in there, but there Security officer came to the parking lot to assess the damage with me.  By this time the Police had arrived and I was giving my statement to the officer. An announcement came across the radio that they had caught a man who fit my description and he was only 2 blocks from my location. The police officer had me get in his car so he could take me to make a positive ID of the man. It was him..Yay! we got him. So we went back to the parking lot and started doing paper work. I asked the officer to run the license plate on the van so we could get a name and decide if the owner was in the Marriott where I work, or if he was staying in the Holiday Inn. We got a name and I called my front desk person and the guard from the Holiday Inn called his front desk person. We determined that the guest was in the Marriott. So we had him come down to speak to the police officer. In the mean time the police officer had me fill out a witness statement and told me I might be called to go to court over this. I have no problem with going to court. Well I filled out a full page very detailed witness statement...Then I made a copy of the statement for my nightly Security report that I fill out every night. ( so that I would not have to write it all down again) The officers were pleased with my statement and the detail in it, and the guest as well as he was upset that a Cd case holding 36 DVD Children's movies was stolen from his van, and his window was broken out of the van. We found the robbers blood in the van and it was swabbed by forensics, for DNA. The guest was pleased that we had taken such quick action, and caught the robber. Like I said I had attached a copy of the witness statement to my nightly report and added more detail to my report. The rober was charged with a double felony, A Felony Breaking & Entering, and a Felony Theft of Property becuase the dollar value of the Dvd's was more than $500.00

Wednesday morning the Assistant General Manger came into the hotel early for work. He had the nerve to chew my ass and tell me that my nightly security reports are not detailed enough...He had seen security reports from 6 sister hotels and he said mine are too customer service oriented and not enough Security oriented. I asked if he had read my report about the Breaking and Entering from the night before. His face went blank ghost white..He had no idea what I was talking about because he said well not to be putting in carrying towels to guests and light bulbs burned out in my report...Then he started chewing me out over events that took place when I was not even on duty...

I told him that I would discuss this with the weekend guard, and that my reports are full of detail. He should try reading them once in a while... He had the balls to tell me that I should spend a few nights in one of our sister hotels to see how Security does their job.

Is this going to be at his expense, and is he going to do my job while I spend a few nights in a sister hotel?

UUUUHHHHHGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to smack his face right off his ugly head.

I am the Best Damn Security Guard in our Company, and I am the Best Damn Security Guard that the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Fort Smith will ever have the pleasure of knowing.

I am sorry to rant like this.. It just erks me that The AGM would chew me out and say that I am not doing my job, when he has not even read the reports that he says I am not writing...2 and 3 page reports every night.....

I hope you all have a great 4th of July Weekend.... I will be working all weekend then going on Vacation beginning at 7:00AM Monday morning, until 11:00PM the following Sunday Night. However we are not leaving for the diamond mines until around 3:00PM Monday afternoon.

I do not remember what kind of camera was used, I only know it was a 35mm. I have not altered the picture in any way other than to resize it to fit my blog screen.

It represents Freedom in more than one way.

1) In America we are free to have children without the government telling us when or how many children we can have.

2) It represents freedom because my daughter had been held up inside my body for 9 months and now she was finally free to grow and become what she is today. A wonderful mother of two beautiful daughters of her own.

Here is a creation of a few things that has interested me this month.

And the new wallpaper border that Codey helped me finish putting up in our living-room this evening.

 

Make a Smilebox scrapbook

I painted my living-room sunflower yellow just before we moved in. I had also chosen the border that I wanted to go up. But I had not gotten around to putting it up until I began Saturday, after Codey had informed me that some of his friends from Kansas were due to arrive this Monday for a visit. I ran out of Border  Saturday morning and we had to go and get more today, I bought the last three matching rolls that the store had, just in case I needed them. Then Codey helped me put the rest of it up, this evening. After we had the furniture back in order, Codey cleaned the rest of the living room and vacuumed and dusted in here. I like the border better than I thought I would. I guess because when I look at the tiny little bees I am reminded of my friend Stilly~bee, and I don't know why but the butterflies make me think of my friends Michelleopal, Rainlily & Teresa. I have enough border now I could paint my bathroom to match my living-room and add the same border in there, but that would not match the Snowman theme I have going on in there...Or would it?

I Missed Coffee Club Thursday...

I am sorry that I got busy and missed this weeks Coffee Club.

I started puting up the wallpaper boarder around my livingroom yesterday, First it was very hard to do alone, with the water and glue running down the walls, and the paper being 4 yards long and my arms being like 1.  I discovred that push pins are great helpers.....I also discovered after the 3rd roll of boarder that I didn't have enough.. I need like 3 more rolls...

Then I went and helped Codey paint part of the back of the house... And he helped me organize some of the boxed in the spare bedroom last night... The room is still cram packed but that is ok...

Well we are off to Barling to finish that porch for his mom's friend...

Well here it is friday,

Did everyone get my email that I have changed my email address.. My new email address is:

I could bore ya with tons of drama.

But I wont.

I could make ya laugh your butts off with a story about a man coming to the front desk in his underware wanting a honeybun... and setting in the night audits chair to eat it.

But I wont.

What I will do is tell you of my plans;

Codey is on his way out the door now to work on painting the house...He wants me to go scrape the other end of the house, But that's the down hill end and the foundation is above my head, I don't do ladders so I can't scrape it for him...Darn...

Well he notifies me that he has friends comming possibly Monday from Kansas for a 3 day visit... I have wasted so much time not unpacking, and my house still does not look inviting... So I plan to run a sink of hot water and commence to puting up the wallpaper border that I bought for the livingroom before we ever moved in..back in April...Then I may use the left over living room paint and paint the bathroom Sunflower yellow as well...

I still have tons of boxes to unpack and shelves and shaddow boxes to put up so that my snowmen will have homes, and the bed needs to be put up in the spare bedroom, and the dresser needs moved in there so that we will have more room in our bedroom...

Plus since Codey has been scraping and painting he has kind of forgotten that the inside needs straightening up some times, so I need to do that too...

Well I guess I should get busy...because tonight is Jeff night and we are going out to his house to play wii and make final plans for vacation..Since we are vacationing with Jeff, and 4 of his 5 kids this year...We are going to Murfreesboro, Arkansas to dig for diamonds....

An unseen twist in the road,

This Picture was taken with a Disposable Camera. No Special Lenses. There has also been no Photo editing of any kind to the picture. I took the picture March 6th 2001  the day after some guy rounded a curve in the road with his bright lights on. His bright lights shined in my rear-view mirror and I could not see anything. I slid off the side of the road at 3:30 AM and hit wet grass and then a tree stump that caused my car to go air born over a driveway, and land 8 feet in the air on a pile of HUGE rocks.   I twisted the front bumper under into the radiator and took the back bumper clear off the car.  I twisted the frame and did $5500.00 Damage to the undercarriage of my Candy Apple Red, 1996 Chrysler LHS... This was my Christmas Present in 2000...  My baby was never the same after that accident. In 2003 I lost the car in my divorce.

I think I am finally caught up on every-ones blogs....If I missed one please do let me know...

My mind just went blank, so I have no more thoughts.....I hate when that happens.

I guess I will just do a rendition of something my friend Robin had done a while back on her page...

1)  I have trouble backing up any kind of vehicle, only had one accident because of it.

2) I was saddened to read that George Carlin died... yes I know he was Vulgar in his talk, But he knew how to live life to the fullest.

Good Monday Morning to you all.... What an exhausting weekend.... I am absolutely worn out... We had a Hog Rally, and a Blues Fest in town this weekend and I had to work all weekend...

Lets go back to Thursday morning... I come home from work and was online when My boss called and asked me if I would be able to work 3:30 Pm till 5:00Pm 11:PM till 8:AM Friday night. Well I agreed and at about 10:00 I woke Codey to ask if he wanted to go and paint a porch in Barling that we had been trying for 2 weeks to get painted but the weather would not allow it... So since the sun was shining we went to paint the porch, we painted until 4:30 in the afternoon before we stopped and Codey was going to go back Saturday and do touch ups and paint the back steps.. 

We come home and I head straight to bed...So I could work Friday night from 11:PM till 7:AM and then Friday morning at 7:AM we had a meeting at the hotel that lasted until 1:30. I was scheduled to work at the Blues fest from 3:30 till 5:00 that afternoon then be back to work Blues fest from 11:PM till 8:AM. But my weekend guard at the hotel had called and offered to work the 3:30 to 5:00 shift for me.. He is so sweet, I agreed. and went to bed...Well I woke up at 6:30 PM thinking it was AM and could not get back to sleep...Jeff called and asked if we wanted to go to dinner and then he came back to the house and we searched online for a place to stay while on Vacation... in 2 weeks. We found a place but thy don't take pets, So now we had to find a kennel for Codey's dogs...Which Jeff found the next morning and they charge $8.00 a day per dog...and they will groom and clip their toenails for us as well..The kennel is recommended by 3 of the top vets in town...Both Humane Societies and Dr. Ramer....How cool is that?

Back to Friday...My weekend guard (Danny) called me at 9:30 and told me that his relief for the Blues Fest did not show up at 5:00 and he was still there, and he needed to be at the Marriott at 10:PM. So I jump in the shower and get dressed Grabbed my Gun ran out the door, and stopped at the store on my way because I needed a soda and smokes since I had walked out of the house without mine...I made it to Blues Fest by 10:05 after parking 2 blocks away and walking in.

At 4:AM I had to go to the Marriott and send Danny to the Blues Fest because he is not insured to drive the Marriott van, and The singing group WAR (Yes the singers of the song LOW RIDER) needed to be taken to the Airport for a 4:30 check in... They didn't get down to the van until 4:35 and I rushed them to the Airport and they made their flight....They didn't even give me a tip for the rush trip... Anyway.. So I go back to the Marriott  and hand over the Van Keys to the front desk clerk and rush back to Blues Fest to send Danny back to the Marriott.. So I finish my shift at the Blues Fest and came home and passed smooth out.

Jeff calls at 10:30AM and Jeff calls and waked me up telling me he found a Kennel and telling me to go ahead and reserve the House in Glenwood for the week of Vacation... A 2 BR house for $115 a night for 7 people...How Cool is that? So I call and reserve the House on my Debit card...Telling him we will pay cash when we arrive.

Jeff calls back and asked if I had made the reservations...Yeah I did.. So then I go back to bed...Codey comes in at 2:00 wanting to go to the grocery store, But I ended up sending him to fill my Van with Gas and he got the milk and orange juice he wanted...And I went back to bed...then at about 6:PM I woke up again hungry and ordered in Pizza Hut.. we ate and I went back to sleep until it was 9:30 and I had to get up to go to Blues Fest again..

In the morning on my way home I went and picked up all of the time sheets that I normally get on Sunday evening and then scanned them into the computer and sent them off to my boss for payroll... I get to bed about 9:30AM and get waken up at 11:30 because we needed to go do laundry. Well we get home from Laundry at 5:30PM Mom made homemade Chicken and Dumplings for supper and we ate there...

So we come home and I went right to bed to get back up again at 9:30 because I had to begin my week at the Marriott...Codey called me at 3:00AM and tells me our computer had a virus that switched our desk tops and would not let something work, and the virus ware program would not detect it...So he was going to wipe the computer, and reinstall it from new.. When I came home I had to reinstall my Yahoo and other programs that I needed on my desktop...

So here I set, totally exhausted and I am so far behind on reading Multiply Blogs...I am going to try and get caught up very soon.

Well I have told everyone that I have been trying to lose weight...

Well yesterday I had to go and buy new pants for work... I was wearing a size 18/20 and they have begun to become lose on me.. Well recently I have had bunches under my belt... and they looked like I need to ad something in them to fill them out... So I went and bought 2 pair of size 16 pants. When I got home they too are too large, but not as noticeably as the old pants...

 

See how heavy I was just last month in a size 16 pants. See how I was almost rolling over the top of my belt....

I felt like crap posting this picture...

 

 

Well look at the change here in just over a months time...I am not sucking it in..I promise...

 

How did I do it?  I took some advice that I heard at a memorial service last December.

 

Well we were at Codey's sister's Memorial service last December, several family members one by one stood and were talking about things that they remembered from Beth, and what an influence she made in each person's life.

Beth's step daughter mentioned in her speech that when she was about 16 Beth had told her that in order to stay thin always suck in your stomach when you walk...Well it was obvious that his lady did not take Beth's advice. 

But Since my job involves a lot of walking and stair climbing I decided that I would try the advice that Beth had passed on to her stepdaughter.  I have only been Sucking in my stomach for about a month and it really is helping...What I do is suck my stomach and my buttocks in to the point that I barely have any of my waistband of my pants touching my skin... I hold my shoulders square and I breath as normal as I can...

No I do not do this the entire 2 minutes it take me to walk from one end of each hall to the other, I am still trying to make a habit of it. So I try to remember to do it as I walk up stairs and when I am walking the floors.

I have gained back 2 pounds of the 18 that I had lost since Thanksgiving. But I know that is because I indulged in a big piece of my dad's Father's Day Cake. I also ate a few larger portions a couple of times at meals. But I will lose them back I am sure of that... I only have 34 more pounds to lose.

The weight did not all go on over night so I can not expect it to come off over night.

Back at the beginning of the year I made a blog and I vowed that I would not make a New Year Resolution. I instead wanted to make an accomplishment list... One of the things that I wanted to accomplish was weight loss.. I had about given up on accomplishing that task..

That was until Michelle inspired me.. See Michelle wanted to accomplish Moving to Iowa.. It all happened so quickly and I am so proud of Michelle, and her family for doing what they set out to accomplish. By Michelle accomplishing this item on her accomplishment list it inspired me to make another attempt to work on this accomplishment as well... Thank you Michelle..

Good morning it is Tuesday, time for another rendition of Tuesday Tantrums...

I am so sorry that I did not get to read everyone's wonderful blogs on Monday... I will try and get to them, but my responses will be late.

Sunday night we had some awful storms here is Fort Smith. Here is a picture of how hard the rain was.

That building that you can barely see is the Fort Smith Convention Center it is just across the parking lot from the Hotel that I work at.

Well as a result of that storm our Cable went out for most of Monday morning. No cable meant no Internet, Because I am bundled through COX. So I could not read any blogs monday Morning. So Monday afternoon I came on line after we did have cable and after I had read three or four blogs the cable went out again. So I ate a ham sandwich and went to take my evening nap before work.

I came on line this morning and I began reading blogs and chose to write one and explain my absence yesterday, and apologize to everyone.

I am so offended, and embarrassed....

Yesterday I come to my multiply in box and I see an invitation to become friends with someone who is from Memphis, TN. I check her profile and I think well maybe this will be a good thing...What I forgot to do was look through some past blogs to see what kind of things she blogs about....I had not given it much thought before but I found out this morning that this is important...especially when you are a grandma....

The new friend I had added, had posted a blog with a picture.. the blog would have been fine I could have over looked it and posted the words "no comment" and went on...But the picture was of interracial persons about 4 or 5 of them engaging in sexual acts...it would not have mattered one bit if it had been all blacks, all whites, all Asian, who ever. The problem comes from the 4 or 5 naked persons engaging in Sexual acts....

Well for 1)  I do not consider Multiply a porn sight and that offended me, and 2)  I do not want my grand children to see that SMUT at their ages...

Most every one knows that I do not approve of interracial communion, I am not racist in any way.. I know people as friends that are of different races.. black, white, asian, Indian, and from India, germans and they are all wonderful people, But I would never have sexual relations with any of them. I think this person just added me as a friend so that she could post this..thinking she would show me something about being racist...I am not racist in any way...If anybody might think I am please I am in now way here to offend anyone... The way I feel is that there are good an bad peoples in every race no matter what color their skin is.

I didn't take time to read her blog..I simply posted a comment that said I have to think of my grandchildren and what they might see when I open my page, and I can not have that type of things showing on my page...and explained that I was removing her from my friends list. Then I went to my friends list and did just that.

I was polite and I did not tell her that her trash offended me...

What I am wondering is why on earth people would feel that posting Smut should be accepted?  I mean to joke around and say things that might imply it is one thing. But what offended me most was that if my grand daughter would have been setting on my lap or playing near me she would have seen this picture and I could not accept that.

I am not going to give names because she might be a friend of some of ya'lls...

So my question here today I will make it a poll just for fun...To see what the majority thinks...

Why didn't anybody tell me that I forgot to post a Thursday Coffee Club this week? I am so ashamed..I am sorry.

Most of my Coffee clubs have been centered around my job....imagine that all I do is work and sleep except when I go to my parents house and when I see my grandchildren and of course there is my much valued Jeff time...I do not think I would last if I had to go a weekend with no Jeff...I have explained before that Jeff and I were introduced to each other as cousins when we were both 7 years old....Jeff's Grandma married my Grandpa when our mothers were only toddlers. Long story short..Jeff and I have been inseparable every since...I would lay down my life for him and never regret it at all.

Back to the part about my job....last night Alexis  called out because her 3 year old son had surgery yesterday for an hernia that he was born with, and she needed to be with him. Well as it turned out Henry filled in until 2:00 and then came Shawn...you all remember the hotel's Assistant General Manager...I worked with Shawn who had just had knee surgery last week, so he was limping around complaining of his knee pain...I am sure it hurts...and feel for him on that part.

Remember 3 weeks ago when he called me into his office and said that I had 30 days to get the Guest Service Scores up from 77.8 for Security, or he was changing security companies? Well this morning he went to check the Guest Service Scores and he brought the paper back to the front desk. He was unhappy that the scores for Front desk were at 134 which meant they were at 76% To Shawn that is unacceptable. I had already seen the scores 3 days ago and knew what they were. So I asked "Have the Scores for Security come up any from last month?" He said Security is at 100% for the month...I said "I knew that getting a weekend guard in here that actually does his job would help" Shawn said "You did good" I responded with a "Thank You"....I was laughing at him from the inside because he was acting as if I am the reason that the scores were down..When I knew I had been doing my job correctly. It was the weekend guards and changing of the guards, would be the answer. Shawn was complaining just last month about me changing weekend guards too often...I gave credit to Danny, he is doing a great job.

We are planning to go camping with Jeff & the kids this weekend, I might not be around much...

This is an arangement that sets on the table in front of the fire place at the hotel that I work in. I think it goes well with the gold vases on the Firplace Hearth and the Multicolor Mozaic tile surrounding the Fire place it's self.

yes, Mom had a recipe that i thought would be fun and since we got fresh cow milk daily I tried it... It was bland tasting but it did work.

When I see anybody if I get a feeling in my spine I stay away..

I am practically a senior now...most of the stuff I do wind up being a prank on me...LOL

I would pray that the doctors were wrong...and i would spend as much time as possible with that person.

The person that I miss the most right now is my BFF Sheena. We grew up as best friends an lost contact in 1984 and we recently came back in contact a year ago through classmates.com and I can't wait to see her again.
