Hello All

Good Thursday Morning everybody. Welcome to week three if the Coffee Club.

Today I must ask for a special request...My heart is troubled for someone very dear and so special to me.  My cousin Jeff, I have mentioned him several times in blogs. As you all know Jeff is the single father of 5 wonderful children.

Monday morning Jeff went to the doctor because he had been having back troubles. They run some tests and told him he had degenerative arthritis in his lower lumbar, and 4 bulging disks between his shoulder blades.  Jeff is on medication for that, and may later have to have surgery.  But while they were running tests on Jeff the doctor decided that he thinks Jeff is experiencing Heart failure.

The doctor was going to order a series of tests, Stress test, followed by a Nuclear tests. If Jeff fails those they will do an endoscopy, (run the tube to his heart) and if that does not work they will take him straight to Open Heart Surgery. We have been on pins and needles all week waiting for the call to tell us when he will go in for the tests.

The call came in yesterday morning. Jeff will begin his testing at 8:30 this morning. They told Jeff that if they only have to put in a stint then he will be in over night, But if they have to do open heart surgery he will be in the hospital 5 days or more. Jeff told me that the last thing he is going to do before he goes in this morning is call my phone so that my number will be the last one dialed. He is going to give his phone to my aunt Barbara (his mom) so that as soon as she finds out anything she can hit redial on his phone and let me know; that way I will know what to do about taking care of his children.

I want to be right next to Jeff holding his hand while he is going through all of this, Jeff has been my best friend since we were 7 years old.  Jeff says I am the only one he will trust to take care of his children. So if Jeff has to have surgery then Codey and I will be moving out to Jeff's house for a few days to take care of his kids while he is in the hospital.

We should know something by noon. I would like to ask for your prayers and good thoughts that Jeff will pass the stress test and not need any surgery.

UPDATE:::  They ran the stress test this morning as scheduled. The person conducting the test told Jeff that although all of the results are not in yet.. He does not think there is anything wrong with Jeff's Heart.. So no further tests were run, and Jeff was wsent home...
